I entered a contest!

So I entered a contest to win a free photo session!!! AE Photography is a husband/wife team that do some amazing work. The idea of the contest was to write a paragraph on something you are thankful for… my choice…. MUSIC!!! As anyone who knows Joe & I knows, music plays a huge part in our lives, our relationship, and our day to day plans. So read my submission and also check out AE Photography’s blog and website:

I am always thankful for music. Music played a huge part in meeting my fiance. We had a mutual friend that DJ’d a punk rock show Friday nights on the local college radio station. One fateful Friday night, a friend and I went to visit our DJ buddy. As I stepped into the studio, I noticed the cutest boy I had ever seen. He was visiting the studio to promote his band. I knew I had to speak with him. I had never felt like this before and I’ve never been this forward when talking to the opposite sex. Joe & I talked for quite a while about music that night. We had exchanged numbers and later made plans to hang out. Most of our first date was spent reminiscing about bands that we’d seen and talking about our favorite albums. I knew this was the man I was going to be with for the rest of my life. Ten years later, we’re making plans to finally get married with music playing a huge part in it. I’m sure that in our old age we’ll be rocking out in our rockers to our favorite albums together. And that I am thankful for.

The great photographer search…..

Since photographs are such an important thing to me, I have been searching for photographers that will properly capture the moments. Joe & I are not “traditional” by any means, so we didn’t want the “traditional” wedding pictures. I’m also kinda picky when it comes to photography…. this is the one area of the wedding I really know what I want. Joe feels the same. We both have a definite idea of what we want from the photographers. In saying that, I have already made an appointment to meet with a couple to possibly shoot the Arizona ceremony and have made contact with another photography couple to shoot the Chicago ceremony. I’ll be sure to keep you guys posted…..
